Turner Person Jones, age 101, of Gaston, NC, died Thursday, October 19, 2017, in Rocky Mount, NC.
He was born in Johnston County, son of the late Ezekial and Alona Jones.
Mr. Jones was retired from the Town of Gaston as Water and Street Superintendent. He was a member of Gaston Baptist Church.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Norris Jones; an infant son, Earl Jones; infant daughter, Shirley Faye Jones; brothers, Roland and Obie Jones; sister, Alice Butler.
Surviving are two sons, Wayne Jones (Janice), of Roanoke Rapids, Gary Jones (Significant other, Tammy), of Conway,NC; two daughters, Deanie J. Manning (Henry), of Gaston, Glenda J. Rowland (Joe), of Roanoke Rapids; 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; special caregiver, Laura Thompson.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Pruitt Home Health and Hospice.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, October 22, 2017, in the Chapel of Wrenn, Clarke and Hagan Funeral Home with Rev. Julian Mills and Rev. Tim Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Old Cedarwood Cemetery.
