Trilby Nadine Inscoe

Trilby Nadine Inscoe, 55, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Hampton Manor in Gaston, NC.

Trilby was born in Halifax County October 9, 1958, to the late Claude Mason Inscoe and Lucille Tyson Inscoe.  S

he left Halifax County to attend Caswell Training School in Kinston.  She later moved to Rocky Mount where she attend Nash County Community College in the special needs program.  

Trilby loved music, singing and dancing and participated in a number of talent shows in the area.  

Her love for entertaining was evident because she won most of the shows in which she competed.  

Trilby loved helping in the family business, bussing tables and greeting everyone with her big, loving smile, as they entered the restaurant.  

She was a long time member of South Rosemary United Methodist Church where she loved to sing Jesus Loves Me.

 She was an inspiration to all she met, and was one of God’s “Best Gifts”.

 In addition to her parents, Trilby was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara I. Price-Burton and her late husband, M.J. Price.

Surviving is her sister, Phyllis Inscoe Smith and husband, Richard, of Roanoke Rapids; nephew, Mason Price and wife, Lauren, of Roanoke Rapids; two nieces, Susan Ivey of Roanoke Rapids, and Dr. Claudia Edmondson and husband, Brian, of Rocky Mount ; two great-nieces, Macie Price of Roanoke Rapids, and Summer Ann of Rocky Mount, and one great-nephew, Jacob Ivey of Roanoke Rapids.  Also surviving is her long time special friend, Matt Hux.  

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service Thursday, April 10, 2014, from 7-9 pm, and all other times at the home of Mason and Lauren Price, 759 Sam Powell Dairy Road, Roanoke Rapids.  Revs. Sue Owens and Richard Hill will conduct funeral services Friday, April 11, 2014 at South Rosemary United Methodist Church at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.  

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions be made to: Special Olympics, 1133 19th St. NW, Washington, DC 20036.
