Robert “Bobby” Gene Poythress age 70, passed away on August 11, 2015 at his home.
Bobby was born July 26, 1945 in Northampton County North Carolina, the son of the late Bennie Wilkerson Poythress and Gertrude Mae Lynch Poythress.
He was also preceded in death by his brother Buddy Poythress, Sr. and an aunt Nelly Lynch.
He owned and operated his own body shop for many years serving the Roanoke Valley for many years.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years Marguerite Frances Thompson Poythress; His two sons Robie Poythress and Johnny Poythress and his wife Kim; His two grandchildren Jeremy Poythress and Kelly Erickson and her husband Olaf; His great grandchild Zander Erickson; His sister Beatrice Collier and her husband Mike; His brother-in-law Jessie Thompson and his wife Brenda; His sister-in-law Judy Martin and her husband Victor, all of Roanoke Rapids, NC and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids, NC from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and other times at the home.
