Mr. Henry Grady Britton Jr., age 87 of Pendleton, NC passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Mr. Britton was born August 28, 1928 in Northampton County, NC, the son of the late Henry Grady Britton Jr. and Grizzie Blythe Britton.
He was an active member of Galatia Baptist Church, and served as a Deacon for over fifty years, served as a Sunday School teacher for more than forty years, served as church treasurer for several years and also served as Brotherhood Director.
Mr. Britton loved to visit the shut-ins and the nursing homes, enjoyed his garden where he would share with friends and neighbors. He was active with Meals On Wheels for several years. He always kept a great sense of humor, even until his last days.
He was a Veteran of the US Army.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Julia Barnes Britton. His daughter, Donna Britton Davis and her husband Mike. His son, David Britton and his wife Susan. Four grandchildren, Allison B. Wagner (Brandon), Alex Britton (Sarah Grace), Michael Davis and Hilliary Davis and her fiancé’ Tommy Crowder. His brothers, William J. “ Billy” Britton and his wife Mildred and Ellis Britton. Also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Galatia Baptist Church with Rev. David Foster officiating. Burial will follow at the Britton Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Massey Funeral Home in Jackson, NC from 6:30 until 8:30 PM and other times at the home.
