
Charles Kenneth “Chas Papa” Stahl, Jr., 61, died Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh, NC surrounded by his loving family.
He was a simple country man who believed in the Lord and was a wonderful and loving “Papa” to his grandkids.
He drove an 18 wheeler for many years. He cared for others so much that he was a donor of his corneal lenses so that another may benefit from his gift.
“Well done thy good and faithful servant."
Surviving is his dear wife of 42 years, Marshan Bishop Stahl, of the home; daughter, Elizabeth Ashley “Pookie” Stahl and her boyfriend, Jessie, of Roanoke Rapids; sister, Yvonne Cox and husband, Jim, of Roanoke Rapids; brothers, Matthew Stahl and wife, Teresa, of Eustis, FL and Wade Stahl and wife, Darbie, of Mt. Dora, FL; grandchildren, Kenneth Wayne Taylor and Hallie Elizabeth Taylor. Also surviving are several other dear family members and friends.
Rev. Cory Oliver of First United Methodist Church will conduct a service of remembrance Friday, June 24, 2016, at 2:00 pm at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.
The family will receive friends immediately before the service beginning at 12:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
