Mr. Thomas Wayne “Tommy” Joyner Sr., age 67, of Littleton, NC passed away Monday, August 22, 2016.
Tommy was born on December 4, 1948 in Halifax County, NC, the son of the late Thomas Mason Joyner and Gwendolyn Butts Joyner.
Tommy was a salesman for many years and an accomplished musician. He inspired many family members to pursue music and shared his passion for music with everyone he came in contact with.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kay Gordon Joyner; his children, Ashley Michelle Joyner, Thomas Wayne Joyner Jr. and his wife Mary Beth Joyner, Kevin Daniel Joyner and his wife Elizabeth Ashley Joyner and their children Caroline Faith Joyner and Luke Mason Joyner; his sisters Wanda Joyner Moore and fiancé Doug Bennett and Gloria Jean Merritt and her husband David Merritt. A special thank you to life long friends Pati Gordon Henderson (sister in-law), Russell Moore (nephew), Gordon Gray, Darrell Taylor, Steve Brantley, and Buddy and Rhonda Myers for all of their support.
A celebration of life event for Tommy will be held at The Lake Gaston Resort. 300 Lake Resort Drive Gasburg, VA 23857 at the Clubhouse (casual attire), Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 2:00 until 5:00 PM.
Arrangements are being handled by Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
