Alfred Smith “Vic” Harris, 85 of Johnston Street, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Stone County Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Wiggins, MS.
He was a longtime member of First Christian Church, which he dearly loved. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Harris was a 33rd Degree Mason, Past Master of Widow’s Son Lodge 519, loved baseball, the Atlanta Braves and North Carolina Tarheels. He retired from Champion International after 40 years of service.
He is survived by his sons: David Todd Harris of Roanoke Rapids, Alfred S. “Al” Harris, Jr. of Charlotte; his daughter Kimberly Brandon and her husband James of Hattiesburg, MS; his grandchildren: Caithlyn, Ryan, Kyle and Natalie Harris.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 2, 2016 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Bane Angles, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery with Military Honors and Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:30 P.M. prior to the service and other times at 1306 Johnston Street.
