Phyllis Jean Sadler Hoggard, 74, died Friday July 11, 2014 at Our Community Hospital in Scotland Neck.
Mrs. Hoggard was born May 31, 1940 in Halifax County to the late Herman Sadler and Minnie Collier Sadler. She worked as a legal secretary for many years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Sybil Tripp.
She is survived by her husband, Byron Duke Hoggard of Scotland Neck; sons, William Earl Gray, Jr. and wife Tammy, of Chesapeake, VA and Christopher Alexander Gray of Roanoke Rapids and brother, David Sadler. Also surviving is four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service Tuesday July 15, 2014, from 6-8 pm. Rev. Sue Owens will conduct funeral services in the chapel at Hockaday Wednesday July 16, 2014, at 11:00 am with interment to follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery.
